to stop new developed that is harmful to their neighborhood.

Strengthen Our Local Economy - Today, big business drives out Spokane’s local businesses.  Proposition 4 supports local business, which
create more jobs and keeps revenues local.

Ensuring Pay Equity - Today, workers on private and public construction workers are paid differently.  Proposition 4 will ensure that
workers are paid the fair and competitive prevailing wage on construction projects.

Creating Good Jobs - We’re losing skilled labor in Spokane.  Proposition 4 expands opportunities for training programs - keeping jobs here
and creating opportunities for young people to learn skills right here in Spokane.

Improve Access to Preventive Healthcare - Today, over 20,000 Spokane residents don’t have health insurance. Another 20,000 to
30,000 lack adequate health insurance.  Proposition 4 expands access to preventive healthcare by tasking city government with convening
healthcare providers to devise solutions to this problem.

Increase Access to Affordable Housing - Over the past few years, we’ve lost over 1,000 units of affordable housing in downtown
Spokane.  Proposition 4 ensures that there’s an adequate supply of safe, affordable housing for those in need by tasking city government
with examining Incentive and zoning options to guarantee a range of affordable housing.

Ensure Access to Affordable and Renewable Energy - Energy prices are rising and global warming is accelerating.  Proposition 4
addresses these challenges by ensuring that residents have access to affordable and renewable energy sources.

Protect Our River and Drinking Water - Today, the Spokane River is one of the most polluted in the country.  Proposition 4 creates
greater protections for the river and for our aquifer which supplies our drinking water by expanding who can act to protect the river, and by
guaranteeing that those who pollute the river must pay to restore it.
